We did it, the very first race for the two of us... and since we didn't want to start small, we immediately rode the HARZ GRAVEL, a real leg-biter. Without giving it much thought, we signed up for the race at the beginning of the year, and in mid-April, it was time.
Competing for the mymate team are:
Dean 50KM / 800HM
Robbie 100KM / 1600HM
Our biggest challenge? Our basic fitness. Since neither of us has a bike, we didn't get much cycling done during the winter months, and we were about to notice it. Dean switched to the 50km loop at the beginning due to knee problems, while Robbi had to complete the 100km.
Summary
Dean reaches the finish with a flat tire and Robbie crosses the finish line with cramps.
